We’re delighted to be working in partnership with an Edinburgh based not for profit organisation as they look to appoint an experienced Transactional Finance Manager to oversee all transactional finance activities within the organisation. Managing a team of 5, you will oversee the sales ledger, income, credit control, purchase ledger and payroll functions.
Key responsibilities:
- Accountable for all areas of transactional finance within the organisation
- Reviewing the monthly payroll and annual year-end
- Managing the relationship and data provision to out-sourced payroll bureau
- Overseeing and managing all areas of credit control inc. accurate and timely invoicing, resolving disputes and ensuring robust processes and reporting are in place
- Providing clear and inspirational line management to motivate and develop the team
- Ensuring that the team deliver a trusted, high standard of service to the organisation with focus on timeliness and accuracy
- Responsible for National Statistic submissions, bank covenants and any other ad hoc external submissions as required
- In conjunction with the Head of Finance, ensure all necessary and effective internal financial controls are in place across the organisation
- Oversee the administration of the company car allowances and pool car
- Maintain finance system parameters in line with delegated responsibilities
- Provide support with the ongoing development of finance systems and system generated reporting
- Promote finance awareness across the whole organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Be an active and effective member of the Finance Team and wider organisation, working cross-functionally in a collaborative manner to deliver business goals, projects and priorities.
This is a newly created role and as such, you will have the opportunity to build and mould the role as you see fit and very much put your own stamp on it, whilst working closely with the Head of Finance. This is an organisation that we’ve worked with for a number of years now and they have an excellent reputation and truly value their staff. They offer a high level of flexibility and hybrid working and have built a fantastic culture over the years. The salary banding quoted above is for the 4 days as opposed to pro rata. The FTE would be circa. £40-42k.

The above criteria will be absolutely paramount in being successful in the role. Qualification wise, you can be Qualified by Experience, Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified. The focus is more on appointing someone who will come with the relevant experience as laid out above. For those who are studying towards their qualification though, study support will be provided.
